Worldschool Mexico is an experiential education community that brings together cultural immersion, ecological consciousness, practical life skills, and meaningful human connection. Rooted in Mexico’s extraordinary cultural and environmental diversity, our programs invite children and families to move beyond conventional classrooms and discover the world through hands-on learning, authentic cultural experiences, and direct mentorship from passionate local professionals.

Our educational home base in San Miguel de Allende offers thoughtfully designed programs for children ages 3–18, combining nature-based exploration, traditional Mexican arts, ecological architecture, culinary innovation, agriculture, animal care, and Spanish language learning. Younger children enjoy nurturing, developmentally appropriate experiences that encourage creativity, independence, and curiosity, while older students participate in specialized immersions guided by professionals in their respective fields. From experimenting with natural building materials and exploring sustainable agricultural systems to learning the intricacies of Mexican gastronomy in a professional kitchen, our students gain knowledge and practical skills that connect education with everyday life.

Beyond San Miguel de Allende, our destination-based family immersions take learning into some of Mexico’s most culturally and ecologically remarkable regions.

Our Colors of Oaxaca family immersion is a journey into the living traditions, Indigenous heritage, and extraordinary artistic identity of southern Mexico. Traveling from Oaxaca City into Zapotec communities, artisan villages, and the surrounding mountains, families encounter centuries of knowledge preserved through art, agriculture, gastronomy, and community life. Experiences include learning traditional alebrije carving and barro negro pottery alongside local artisans, exploring natural dyes and textile traditions, discovering the archaeological wonders of Monte Albán and Mitla, and experiencing the vibrant cultural expressions of Oaxaca’s markets and Guelaguetza celebrations. Ecological learning is equally important, with opportunities to participate in reforestation, explore mountain ecosystems, and discover traditional approaches to sustainability, food sovereignty, and community stewardship. More than a cultural tour, Colors of Oaxaca invites families to engage directly with the people, landscapes, and traditions that make this region one of Mexico’s most extraordinary living classrooms.

Our Bacalar immersion in Quintana Roo brings together environmental science, Maya history and cosmology, aquatic exploration, and conservation. Through hands-on experiences such as studying ancient stromatolites and cyanobacteria, exploring archaeological sites, examining microscopic aquatic life, and discovering traditional Maya ecological knowledge, participants develop an understanding of the relationship between human civilizations and the natural world. Snorkeling adventures, scientific observation, cultural exploration, and environmental stewardship transform Bacalar’s remarkable lagoon and surrounding landscapes into an unforgettable educational environment.
